Bomb Farm Beginner Guide

Learn how to play Bomb Farm, build your first squad, read the map, manage hero energy, equip gear, and prepare for the Stage 10 timed gate.

How to play Bomb Farm: the short answer

Get a second hero into the field, keep active heroes supplied with enough energy to work, advance until the Stage 10 timed gate, and avoid spending scarce resources on systems you do not yet understand. Early progress comes from a functioning squad more than a perfect item.

Your first permanent upgrade: the center of the skill tree unlocks the second hero slot. The tree’s starting core is already active with +5% squad damage.

1. Build a field, not a bench

Bomb Farm revolves around heroes working together in the active field. A self-scoped ability improves only its carrier; a team aura helps everyone while the carrier is present. Read the scope before spending ability points.

  • Use War Cry and similar auras to understand team-wide effects.
  • Use Extra Battery and Miner’s Stamina to compare self versus team energy support.
  • Do not assume a skin determines a role. The build confirms skin names, but not a complete skin-to-role stat table.

2. Read the map before moving

The flag marks the stage your team is currently fighting. Worlds unlock as the squad advances. The difficulty column shows the current loop, and a new difficulty becomes available only after the final stage of World 5 is cleared.

Timed gates are different from normal farming. Entering a gate consumes one map key for that difficulty, then the room must be cleared before the timer expires.

3. Treat Stage 10 as the first readiness check

The official “Beat the Clock” achievement identifies Stage 10 as the first timed gate. Before entering:

  1. Confirm the correct difficulty key is available.
  2. Use your strongest active field rather than an experimental lineup.
  3. Check that heroes have enough energy to stay active during the attempt.
  4. If the gate fails, improve the field and retry instead of spending keys blindly.

4. Keep early equipment decisions reversible

Equipment occupies eight slots: weapon, helm, chest, pants, boots, gloves, ring, and amulet. Early item levels move quickly, so recognize the family and use obvious upgrades before committing to high forge levels or irreversible market actions.

The forge uses gold and can fail at higher levels. The Steam achievement list calls +8 the safe limit and +15 the maximum. See the equipment and forging guide before pushing beyond the safe milestone.

5. Use the Wiki as a lookup loop

When a new icon appears, search it; when a ritual asks for five inputs, check the compatibility rule; when a gate blocks progress, return to the field, equipment, and skill tree. Build around the bottleneck you can see instead of copying an unsupported “best build.”
